Being from different cultures and having different interests has been key in making my relationship so exciting. I think it’s important that we both are always open to trying things we might not like (him watching Dr. Who, me agreeing to try skydiving), but I love that we’re different. We’re always teaching each other new things and we’re always learning, always growing together. Being soul mates isn’t about having all of the same interests and liking all of the same things. It isn’t about agreeing all of the time. It’s about having someone who continues to challenge you; to keep you from growing stagnate, from becoming bored. I think that if people understood that differences were a good thing and not always negative, life would probably make more sense. Variety is the spice of life, remember?
